ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Lisa Jacobs-Watson speaks from the heart about her Christian journey by sharing simple, relatable experiences that provoke questions about life’s purpose. Her poetic memoirs encourage readers to listen to their inner voice and become more prayerful in the process. Lisa wears many hats: wife, mother, grandmother, court assistant, college instructor, community advocate and spare time writer.
Lisa attributes writing a devotional to secular, religious, and spiritual experiences from her Catholic upbringing, which fueled a desire to know Christ more intimately. In 2007 she joined His Dwelling Place Church of Buffalo, a non-denominational ministry under Assemblies of God. Lisa served on the leadership team as church secretary and was heavily involved in community outreach and Bible teaching over a ten-year period. During that time, Lisa received a diploma from First United Methodist Church – Bible Institute.
Lisa took notice of how her circle of family and friends praised and worshipped differently but shared their love of God. In 2014 she began Women of Wisdom ministry (WOW) to encourage fellowship among her peers. WOW encourages women to develop a holistic attitude toward becoming spirit-filled leaders in their households, churches, and communities. WOW promotes poetry and prose to welcome fulfillment of the Great Commission wherein Jesus calls on his followers to make disciples of all nations.
While obtaining her master’s degree in Organizational Leadership in 2018, Lisa committed to writing her memoirs to honor her faith. She actively studies the gospel within her belief of Christian responsibility to spread the good news by finding creative ways to use God-given talents. Lisa shares her creative writing style with the hope of empowering Christian women. Inspired by personal notes and letters to God, she uses over a hundred scripture references to share spiritual reflections in her first published work, Dear Wow.
